The Artists
|
Janice Puente is a versatile water and mixed media artist living in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Her work ranges from realistic and representational to abstract and still life to landscape and imaginary. Although her formal education was as a teacher, and later as a Feldenkrais functional movement practitioner, Janice's first love has always been art. With some informal background in drawing, pen and ink and graphic design, several years ago she decided to pursue her childhood desire to be an artist and began taking classes in watercolor. While her only other art training has been a few college courses, Janice has continued to study on her own, attending workshops, (including study with Charles Reid, Eric Wiegardt and Stan Miller), and to paint in her home studio, in plein air and experiment with varied media.
Janice's work has been accepted in various juried shows to date and shown in local galleries, with her first solo shows in 2006 in Spokane, Washington. She has been a member of the Spokane Watercolor Society since 2004 and is a member of and shown with the Inland Northwest Watercolorists. Her work can be seen at the Art and Home Center of Coeur d'Alene,1619 W. Lee Court, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Click here for a map ...
